Are there forum moderators at the Hideaway?

Almost all of the forums at the Hideaway are member owned and moderated. (We like it that way! )

The site forums are moderated by the Hermits with the exception of the HTML Help forum and the Welcome Wagon .

Celtic Charm, Jude and Even Steven moderate the HTML Help forum. Sir J and Lady Cassandra moderate the Welcome Wagon and Chat Central.

Who are the chat moderators?

How do I upload graphics?

To upload your image:

Make sure you are logged in to the Hideaway.

At the top of any of the Hideaway pages you will see a link that says "Edit Pages". Click that link.

Click "Homepage Editor"

Click "Upload graphics"

Click the "browse" button, a small window will open with your files in it, go to the file where your graphic is stored.

Click your graphic then click "open"

Click the send button. Your image should be uploaded.

Sometimes these forums don't work! I write the message and click on "Post" but nothing happens... Am I doing something wrong???

If you write a post and click "Post" but your post does not show on the forum this means that the forum owner has either banned your IP or they have banned a word or URL you are trying to post.

Please contact the forum owner if this happens. This is out of the control of the Hermits since forum owners have the right to ban any IP or any word they choose to.

If this happens to you on a Hideaway owned forum you may use the contact form to contact us and the Hermits will work with you to resolve your issue. However, if the forum in question is a privately-owned member forum you will be referred back to the forum owner.

How do I "sticky" a post to the top of my forum?

View your source code and determine the post number you'd like to sticky.

Highlight and copy the code for that particular post. Here is an example of the code to be copied:

Go into your board editor and edit your main board template. Paste the info you copied from your source code. It goes under the OL tag and before the TOP tag. You can remove the

and put a couple of
's or a

after the sticky post to set it apart from the other forum posts.

Click submit. Your post should be stickied to the beginning of the forum post.

You will see the sticky post in two places on your board. The original post will eventually scroll off the page and the sticky post will stay at the top.
